Hello Chromebook Users!
Need to write something in all capital letters but don’t want to hold down the shift button? We’ve got the key! Pressing Alt-Search (the button with the magnifying glass on the left side of the keyboard), will activate your caps lock typing mode. You'd need to go to settings, and there are a few ways to do this.
Way Number One:
Click on your icon in the lower right corner, and with the list of the available options, there is a little gear at the bottom with a bar labeled "Settings". Tada!
Way Number Two:
The second way to access settings is in Google Chrome. If you look in the upper right hand corner, right below the X to close the App, there are three bars that look like stacked pancakes. Click it and move your cursor to the second bar from the bottom, labeled "Settings". Now you're ready!
Now that we're in the settings app, it's time to change your key! If you look down a little bit, past "Internet Connection" and "Appearance", you will see the title "Device". This is where you will find the key "Keyboard Settings". Click the button and a small screen will appear. As you can see, there are many more options than just the caps lock key. For example, you can view shortcuts, change languages, and alter what your keyboard does when you press certain buttons. We will use the last feature by opening the drop down menu next to "Search", and setting it to "Caps Lock". Press okay, and now whenever you press the search button, caps lock will activate instead of the search menu.
That's it! Enjoy your updated KEYBOARD!
